Blogging for the first time

I'm not sure what I'm doing. This blogging thing is new to me. So this is just a test.

  1. Limo picked us up at 1:30AM. 1/2 hour earlier than expected. Wayne was still in bed. I didn't sleep a minute. Made it to the airport in no time. $600 smackers in excess baggage fees. OUCH! Smooth sailing for Fischer....until it was time to put him in his cage. We could hear him crying as we walked down the hall which then turned on the faucets for both of us. I wrote a letter to the pilot from Fischer. Sure enough the pilot came over to us before we took off and said 'your boy is on board and he's safe and sound'. Arrived in Panana at 10:30AM. Went straight to baggage and asked in very broken Spanish, 'donde mi perro'/where my dog. I must have sounded like a retard. She pointed to the oversized baggage shoot and sure enough 2 minutes later The Woo shot out!!!! Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy. Had an airport worker from the vets office come over, look over my paperwork and kept shaking his head up and down. I'm hoping that still means YES/GOOD/OK. He took our paperwork, directed us to the vet. Fischer impressed the vet by hoping right up on her couch and making himself comfortable. It was PAINLESS!!!! about a 1/2 hour of stamping this and stamping that and shaking heads up and down we had our dog clear and free...Free? Wait that's not true. Another $130 for all the head shaking. It was worth it. Next stop Thrify for our MINI VAN which looked big until we loaded it. Our trip to Coronando Beach took longer than the 1 hour and 15 minutes because we are pretty sure we got off somewhere wrong and ended up in the heart of Panama City. I don't want to go there again. Arrived at our little rental around 3:00, had a cold beers and a large shrimp pizza in front of us by 4:00. Picked up some very cheep groceries....the beer here is expensive at 60 cents a can because we are in a gate community. We'll be back on budget at 50 cents a can in 10 days when we leave for Pedasi. Until then, we'll have to scrape to get by!!!! After a swim and mas cervasa's we hit the rack way early! Coffee is brewing now, the sound of the ocean is outside our window calling us for a good long walk. Then we are off to truck shop. Can't wait to see how our poor Spanish helps us through this process. HA!!!!

    Adios!!!

  2. I've never blogged before. Keep blogging, I'll keep reading. I'm going to look for Rosetta Stone on e-bay or craigslist and see if I get lucky like you did. Then we can blog in espanol!! Adios! Have fun. Be safe!
I love the pictures. The foliage certainly verifies you're not in Kansas anymore. Fischer's smilin...must be good!
